Like any sport, swimming competitively takes commitment and dedication. That is why regular attendance is needed to become proficient in this sport. Missing a few practices once in a while might be unavoidable, but remember that many skipped work outs will have a negative effect on your swimming performance, your meet times will not improve, and in fact they will get worse. A committed swimmer is the one that comes time after time, practice after practice, year after year after year.
